Area Manager Asphalt Operations

Position Summary:
The Area Manager will be a key driver and will have a significant impact on the function's competitive position and financial performance. Oversees the operations of multiple asphalt terminals located throughout the western US. Focus is on safe, compliant, reliable and efficient operations. Will be responsible for developing leadership throughout the organization and driving a safety culture. Works closely with Marketing organization to ensure operations are reliable and efficient with a high priority on customer service. Is responsible for both the strategy and cost management for the plants, thus will assist in the development and achievement of monthly, annual and long term strategic plans, as well as operational/lean improvement initiatives related to safety, efficiency, quality, cost and environmental management. This position may be located out of the La Palma, CA or Tempe, AZ office.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversees management of all asphalt operations and facility maintenance, including expense control.
Standardizes processes and procedures in accordance with accepted standards, drives development of standard operating procedures and ensures consistency across the assigned region.
Coordinates with terminal managers to ensure policies and procedures are followed. Supports dispatch and other resources needed to ensure on-time deliveries.
Manage equipment repairs and preventative maintenance to control and reduce costs. Coordinate equipment hardware, software installation and training.
Maintain control of project(s) at the asphalt plant while staying on budget. Must be able to prioritize and schedule projects as necessary, while maintaining reliable and efficient operations.
Works with Technical and Marketing to ensure that products are made to specification and that product quality it not compromised.
Ensure compliance with all facility permits and environmental regulations mandated by federal, state, or local governing bodies. Participates with internal / external auditors to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Manages the reliability, utilization, organizational needs, staffing requirements and cost effectiveness of the operations. Prepares annual expense budgets, reviews expenses, inputs requisitions and authorizes vendor payments. Provides operational reports and forecasts for throughput and expenses. Reviews operational and utilization information with regional and corporate management.
EDUCATION and Experience:
Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
Undergraduate degree in engineering, business or equivalent experience preferred.
Minimum 10 years' petroleum terminal or pipeline experience with 2 years supervising terminal operations required.
Knowledge of Asphalt Operations preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
