Role synopsis:
Americas Convenience Manager has overall responsibility for
+ Identifying, developing and implementing convenience retail strategy to drive profit and growth BP's Americas business on a regional level and support any new markets in the future Americas region to establish and unperin a differentiated convenience offer.
+ Recognizing current and emerging trends in consumer needs vis-?-vis convenience retail; create alignment around convenience opportunities and how they might differ in established versus developing markets.
+ Work closely with local teams to identify the opportunity for regional Americas category management and supply chain strategies for convenience to grow retail convenience (including food service where appropriate) and optimize cost efficiencies.
+ Identification and negotiation of all 3rd Party agreements with strategic partners
+ Work closely with BP's Global Convenience Retail team to adapt global strategies where appropriate

Key accountabilities:
+ Initial focus will be to support _ampm_ growth on the west coast and to further develop local capabilities, identifying convenience retail opportunities for our BP branded business and supporting convenience development in Mexico as well as longer term opportunities in other new Americas markets.
+ Using market and customer data, identify, develop and implement strategies to drive profit and differentiate BP vs. competition. Support local trading managers with implementation and identify the opportunity for future cross-region opportunities.
+ Lead and engage key internal and external stakeholders to drive the convenience retail agenda within BP's Americas businesses - act as the regional subject matter expert to build convenience retailing capabilities and manage talent.
+ Select range and build planograms for new Americas markets, meeting financial targets and customer needs.
+ Set category level pricing strategies for new Americas markets considering cross-region implications.
+ Identify opportunities for cross-region buying strategies, negotiation strategies and contracts to deliver sales and profitability.
+ Develop deals that maximize profitability and provide contractual coverage for all relevant products and services.
+ Manage relationship with suppliers and manage effective supplier performance management (SPM) following agreed processes, transitioning relationships to local teams as they mature.
+ Strategic Partnership Development: Develop and conduct strategic 3rd Party convenience negotiations.
+ Provide input to local trading teams on ranging, assortments and planograms
+ Guide key people decisions to attract and retain talent.
+ Utilize CRM data with data analytics team.
+ Input into planning process utilizing data
+ Create and enforce clear category strategies and plans, providing tools, processes and frameworks for the local trading teams.
+ Develop and conduct strategic supply chain and buying model reviews. Negotiate optimum supply chain solutions.
+ Actively participate in relevant global forums to drive BP Americas convenience agenda.

Essential experience and job requirements:
+ 15+ years experience of convenience / small format retailing or food service
+ Experience developing and delivering international/multi country strategies & programs
+ Detailed knowledge of the convenience business across the Americas
+ Experience managing virtual teams, inclusive management approach
+ Experience managing conflict and aligning stakeholders at all levels
+ Americas or international buying and category management experience
+ Fluency in Spanish and English
+ Branded Manufacturer negotiation experience
+ End to end value chain evaluation, negotiation and implementation experience
+ Leading and developing people ? strong people management and leadership skills, plus a proven ability to lead motivate and develop a big operations team, inspiring others and leading change.
